Our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) group offers comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services. We are seeking an intermediate transportation planner / engineer to join our team.

As a Transportation Planner / Engineer, you will work on various projects, providing supervision and guidance to junior staff, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to schedules and budgets. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with experience in engineering and planning projects, regulatory knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience with transportation planning, data analysis, and modeling.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate technical aspects of projects
  • Apply knowledge of transportation planning, modeling, and traffic engineering
  • Conduct transportation analyses and contribute to traffic engineering and modeling
  • Gather data, prepare reports, perform calculations, and conduct studies
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and governments
  • Ensure quality and regulatory compliance of technical products
  • Prepare reports for various transportation studies
  • Coordinate with clients and consultants on project issues
  • Conduct research to support new projects
  • Assist in proposals and marketing activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation planning or traffic engineering; Canadian experience is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgment
  • Knowledge of traffic engineering concepts and software (e.g., Synchro, SIDRA)
  • Understanding of legal and planning procedures
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Knowledge of road safety studies
  • Ability to work independently and within deadlines
  • Experience with demand forecasting and simulation software is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Access and MS Project is a plus
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Additional skills in transit, active transportation, pedestrian, rail modeling, GIS, AutoCAD, programming, and scripting are assets
  • Municipal experience is advantageous

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's in Planning, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred
  • Active P.Eng. or RPP certification or ability to obtain quickly; 5+ years of relevant experience
  • RSP certification or ability to obtain is an asset
  • Hybrid work environment with some travel required

This is a full-time hybrid position with opportunities for advancement.
