Job description

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can find ways forward in the on-going configuration and maintenance of our PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system through participation in PeopleSoft upgrades, development projects, and working with other software that interfaces with PeopleSoft. Whether testing patches and fixes, implementing new functionality, or a full version upgrade, this position requires the ability to do extensive analysis and user acceptance testing.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Business Solutions, the Functional Analyst gathers and documents business requirements necessary for completion of upgrades and Change Requests and participates in all phases of IT Service Management processes. The Analyst coordinates and conducts user acceptance testing and identifies and resolves transactional and system problems, formulates solutions, communicates procedures to users, and completes ad hoc reporting / query development.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Build and maintain designated PeopleSoft tables for daily functionality and annual updates.
  • Conduct first-stage investigations into issues raised by staff and / or students, collecting relevant information and, based on functional knowledge of the system, determine the solution and / or document the problem for follow-up by production support provider.
  • Design and implement an interim solution when an immediate fix is not possible.
  • Provide day-to-day expert advice and support to function areas, assisting with Service Desk inquiries related to PeopleSoft and related software, and update Knowledge Base articles.
  • Create documentation of new processes, or provide expertise in the revision and maintenance of current manuals for staff.
  • Participate in PeopleSoft upgrades (PeopleTools, patches and fixes, new version upgrades) and development of new modules.
  • Analyze the impact of new functionality to existing business processes and identify opportunities for functional enhancements and determine strategies on existing customization.
  • Manage and test regulation and legislative requirement changes.
  • Create functionality analysis documents for each module on project sizing and scope.
  • Prepare testing strategies for various types of user acceptance testing (UAT) such as Patches and Fixes, PeopleTools upgrades, change requests, and PeopleSoft version upgrades.
  • Investigate and analyse requests to determine expected outcomes, business requirements and best method for generating and accessing the information.
  • Work with Business users to define report requirements in a variety of formats including spreadsheets, graphs, charts, flat files, Word merge documents.
  • Design, develop, share, and maintain report solutions using a variety of tools including PeopleSoft Query, SQL, Power BI, Crystal, Org Chart Platinum, etc. and using data from peripheral software.
  • Consult with business teams on the selection, application and implementation of metrics.
  • Take ownership of and ensure integrity of data through regular audits; troubleshoot irregularities; work with Business teams to research and correct discrepancies.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A related post-secondary diploma, a related Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • A related certification in business analysis or project management.
  • 3+ years’ of experience in a functional or business analyst position or performing duties related to this position in a technical capacity.
  • Proficient Knowledge of PSQuery, PeopleTools PeopleCode, SQR, XML, SQL, web page development tools and productivity software products (Microsoft Office, 365, Adobe).
  • Experience in a post-secondary setting is an asset.

SALARY : $68,192 - $85,241 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time, perm position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
