Job description

Our client is seeking a Health, Safety & Wellness Specialist. Reporting directly the Health, Safety, and Wellness Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment. This position oversees various functions, including health and safety support across departments, driving continuous improvement in HSW initiatives, and leading major projects related to site expansion, wellness programs, and WSIB compliance. As a key part of the HSW team, the Specialist works closely with leadership and acts as an HSW subject matter expert, ensuring that all initiatives align with the company’s commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications:
  • A degree/diploma in a related field and a Post-Secondary Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • 3-5 years working full time as a Health and Safety Specialist in the food or manufacturing industry
  • Thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, CSA, Human Rights and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
  • 2-3 years' experience with WSIB case management, incident investigation, workplace inspection, ergonomics and risk assessments
