In this position, you will play a key role on the Corporate Business Development team. You will build and maintain personal relationships with key contacts, customer organizations, strategic vendors, and partners. You will develop bid and proposal strategies and demonstrate how Bechtel can help customers achieve their objectives. Your work will expand market reach and drive growth and success for Bechtel.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Builds and maintains personal relationships with key contacts, customer organizations, strategic vendors, and partners.
  2. Actively builds a personal network.
  3. Keeps informed of customers' present and future plans for growth, projects, and programmatic and technical requirements.
  4. Demonstrates—using personal knowledge, supplemented by other Bechtel personnel—how Bechtel can help customers achieve their objectives.
  5. Develops bid and proposal strategies.
  6. Recommends teaming requirements.
  7. Develops and implements win plan recommendations.
  8. Prepares and manages proposal budgets.
  9. Sets the story line for proposals and actively manages their development.
  10. Actively participates in industry and trade associations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Industry Expertise – Strong understanding of the mining industry, market trends, and competition. Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Construction Management services.
  2. Market Analysis – Knowledge of market research methods, data analysis, and the ability to screen the fit of opportunities.
  3. Business Development and Marketing core principles – Understanding of relationship management, key buying factors, positioning, customer advocacy, value creation, creative and technical writing, and contract negotiations.
  4. Business Strategy – Have a strong understanding of strategic goal setting, financial metrics, and growth strategies.
