PRIDE Seeds is seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our team as a full-time permanent Plant, Field & Shipping Assistant.

Position Summary

The Plant, Field & Shipping Assistant is responsible for conditioning seeds according to government regulations, minimizing product clean-out by adhering to quality standards, assisting with warehouse and seed inspections, and supporting harvest activities related to seed corn and soybean production. The role includes assisting with seed corn harvesting tasks such as shelling, sorting, and monitoring drying processes at seed drying facilities.

Reports to: Warehouse Coordinator, Inventory and Quality Controller, Conditioning Supervisor, Field Manager

Responsibilities

Plant/Conditioning:

• Bag and package seed according to company protocols and contracts, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Perform scale verifications to ensure processing equipment functions correctly.
• Sample seed at various stages to ensure quality and purity standards are met.
• Clean processing equipment and facilities to maintain purity.
• Follow safety, quality, and dust mitigation standards.
• Document quality and purity information and report non-compliance.
• Notify supervisors of machinery requiring maintenance.

Field/Harvest Assistance:

• Assist with seed corn inspections and data entry.
• Support seed harvest activities, including receiving, drying, shelling, and storage.
• Record relevant data accurately.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently.

General:

• Represent AgReliant Genetics positively and embody company values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledge of government seed standards preferred.
• Experience in seed conditioning and production preferred.
• Understanding of QMS and compliance standards preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Forklift license or ability to obtain one.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work required hours, including overtime and shifts.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform heavy physical labor.
• Work in varying climates and conditions, including extreme temperatures, noise, and dust.
• Handle pesticides safely.
