Job Description

We are currently seeking a Business Banking Advisor to join our team.

This Business Banking Advisor (BBA) is responsible for managing and growing an assigned portfolio of business banking members and their associated retail banking and wealth management needs. The BBA provides advisory services, develops long-term relationships with current and potential members, and proactively seeks business banking or referral opportunities to contribute to department and branch goals.

Typical Daily Responsibilities
  1. Business Development: Develops and executes long-term and weekly sales plans to retain existing business and attract new business; actively pursues community contacts and networks with external organizations and individuals to generate new business and referrals.
  2. Portfolio Management: Manages and grows an existing portfolio of business banking members and their personal banking and wealth management needs; conducts annual reviews and ensures all credit terms are met; engages with members to identify current and future financial needs.
  3. Sales and Service Strategy: Provides ongoing advisory services; initiates referrals to product specialists; aims to meet or exceed sales targets; uses the 'Day in the Life' guideline to prioritize efforts and deliver a consistent member experience.
  4. Wealth Management: As a licensed MFDA Advisor, offers wealth and investment solutions.
  5. Risk Management: Initiates collection activities for delinquent accounts and recommends actions to maximize recovery.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience.
  2. Completion of the internal First West certification program within the required timeframe.
  3. Mutual Funds License.
  4. At least 4 years of retail/business/commercial lending or credit experience.
  5. Sales experience is preferred.
  6. Strong relationship-building and communication skills; team-oriented.
  7. Results-driven with effective business development techniques.
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills; adaptable to change.
  9. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  10. Understanding of risk management and adherence to policies.
