We are currently looking for a Project Manager of Web Development for our global web development client.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Type: Permanent full-time

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 + vacation + benefits

Location: Remote, Toronto, ON, Canada (must be able to work on EST)

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Project Management Office, this role is responsible for the management and coordination of designated projects as directed by the business. Our purpose is to facilitate all internal and external project activities as necessary to fulfill both short-term and long-term business objectives, with an eye to increasing the value of site offerings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide project support to Project team members, functional managers, and the business.
  2. Provide support to external project resources, including the Design group, Payment Processors, and 3rd party vendors.
  3. Work with Project team members to respond to, and as appropriate, resolve or escalate project risks.
  4. Ensure/facilitate interdepartmental project communications, both verbally and through electronic means.
  5. Ensure individual project conformance with overall Program Objectives.
  6. Ensure on-time delivery of all projects under his/her leadership.
  7. Work with Project team members to ensure that all initiatives have clear success criteria, an execution plan (including resources), and an assessment of the delivery.
  8. Work with other members of the PMO and functional managers to confirm and negotiate resource assignment according to current business priority.
  9. Work with other members of the PMO to set, and as necessary, reset project goals in accordance with approved Change Management practices.
  10. Communicate timely project status updates to the PMO, management team, and clients as appropriate.
  11. Responsible for creating, or monitoring the creation, of project assets, including:
    1. Project definitions through Requirements documentation
    2. Technical documentation including Technical Specifications, Release/deployment plans, Rollback plans, etc.
    3. Release Scope portals (WIKI pages) for each planned Project release.
    4. JIRA support entries (i.e., project labels, triage, build versioning, key turns) as necessary through the project lifecycle.
    5. Creating project plans, schedules, issue logs, and risk mitigation plans.
    6. Tracking of project tasks, including resource assignment, estimation, and status.
    7. Provide leadership for Production release activities, including impact/risk assessment, resource allocation/co-ordination, and sponsor/business communication.
    8. Administration of Project Management tools, including JIRA, Microsoft Project, and the Project areas of the Internal WIKI.

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5+ years of project management/leadership experience in a software development organization required.
  2. Must have at least 4 years experience in full software life cycle projects.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of external client management experience is required.
  4. Prior experience with website billing projects would be considered a strong asset.
  5. Experience working with off-site project team members is preferred.
  6. Previous experience as a software developer, systems analyst, or business analyst is preferred.
  7. Project Management experience on large/enterprise applications is required.
  8. Besides project management experience, preference will be given to those candidates with a demonstrated technical background in a computer science discipline as well as some practical experience in web programming.
  9. Experience with Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project (or similar), as well as defect management software is required.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills (including conflict management) are required.
  11. Must be able to clearly explain technical issues and constraints to non-technical people both in verbal and written communications.
  12. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to speak comfortably to a variety of audiences.
