RESPONSIBILITIES

The MSL will serve as a scientific resource for Canadian experts in the field of Dermatology. The MSL is responsible for responding to requests for in-depth, cutting-edge scientific information from the medical community in the autoimmune field, including the latest scientific literature, research from major scientific conferences, updates on Lilly’s educational activities, and pipeline research activities. The MSL will gather feedback and insights from Scientific Experts and Thought Leaders to inform Lilly’s research and strategic direction. By facilitating scientific exchange, the MSL can help shape the future of healthcare by addressing important clinical and scientific questions.

The MSL must ensure all activities comply with applicable guidelines, rules, regulations, and ethical standards, including the IMC Code of Conduct, Lilly’s policies on promotion and interactions with healthcare providers, and other relevant regulations.

OBJECTIVES

Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with the scientific community.

The MSL will engage in customer-facing activities to build relationships with external stakeholders such as scientific experts, researchers, educators, and clinical investigators. They will represent Lilly, providing detailed disease state and product information, and facilitate connections between thought leaders and Lilly resources.

Communicate scientific knowledge effectively and serve as a trusted resource for medical and scientific information, responding promptly to inquiries with relevant materials and insights.

Continually enhance scientific knowledge

The MSL is expected to maintain expertise in their therapeutic area through ongoing learning, attending scientific meetings, literature searches, and team communication to share knowledge.

Support medical business objectives and collaborate with internal teams such as Clinical Research, Medical Information, Medical Education, and Marketing by providing clinical insights and customer feedback.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Advanced degree in health sciences (PhD, MD, PharmD) with 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience in Immunology-Dermatology.

OR MSc in healthcare or a professional designation (e.g., BScN, PT, RD) with 5+ years of relevant experience.

OR previous MSL experience with strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS / PREFERENCES

Curiosity and intelligence in immunology/autoimmune disorders, critical appraisal skills, strong presentation abilities, relationship-building skills, familiarity with academic and research communities, experience in servicing complex scientific information, teamwork, project management, and clinical/research experience in autoimmune diseases.

Must have a valid driver’s license.
