Butler Metropolitan Housing Authority is accepting applications for the position of Section 8 Inspection Coordinator. This role is directly responsible to the Section 8 Manager and involves coordinating all required HQS inspections, performing rent reasonableness calculations, and negotiating rents as directed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
  1. Ensure inspections (move-ins, move-outs, complaints, and annual recertifications) are performed in compliance with HUD Housing Quality Standards guidelines; ensure inspections are timely scheduled after receipt of Request for Lease Approval; perform quality inspections of units.
  2. Maintain rent reasonableness data; monitor utility rates to ensure program participants are allotted accurate utility allowances.
  3. Communicate with property owners and participants to ensure accurate information is furnished for the preparation of lease agreements; examine documents for accuracy.
  4. Maintain files and stock of necessary paperwork supplies; assist inspectors with information and documentation; follow up on all inspections to completion.
  5. Schedule notifications to owners and families for the annual re-certification and inspection.
  6. Obtain signatures of owners/residents for all documents.
  7. Recommends approval/disapproval of requested rents by owners.
  8. Prepare inspection booklets for initial leases for new residents, movers, and portabilities; follow through with inspections, verifications, and pertinent correspondence.
  9. Maintain all required licenses and/or certifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent with one (1) to two (2) years of Section 8 experience.


Pay rate $21.29 - $23.62 per hour. BMHA offers an excellent wage and benefit package. Our hours of operation are 8:00 am - 6:30 pm, Monday - Thursday (10-hour days).
