Your role

Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager in the Ottawa region with our Federal Government business unit.

In this role, you’ll support experienced project managers and get the opportunity to sharpen your skills on a diverse range of projects varying in scope and complexity. You will contribute to projects including commercial buildings and fit-ups, heritage restoration, and high-security facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide project support to Project Managers by managing schedule updates, maintaining project controls, developing progress reports, and preparing tender and contract documents.
  • Act as a communication link between the Project Manager, client, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  • Assist with formulating and managing project plans.
  • Maintain systems for project management and control in compliance with client standards and security protocols.
  • Review and update project costs and schedules.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or construction management.
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience assisting with construction activities, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Must hold or be eligible for Secret level security clearance from the Federal Government.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), Word, and Excel.
  • PMP designation or other industry-recognized credentials are assets.
