Procor also operates 28 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and food markets.

We have exciting opportunities for a reliable Rail Car Repair Technician at our onsite repair facility. This role is ideal for someone with experience seeking a stable position with opportunities for advancement.

Job Summary:

The principal duties include car repairs such as:

1. Cutting and welding (SMAW) on rail bodies, including tanks and hoppers, and other components
2. Air Arc Gouging
3. Light to medium-duty mechanical repairs
4. Working at heights
5. Reading, understanding, and following repair orders, blueprints, and procedures
6. Adhering to health and safety standards, including the Responsible Care Policy
7. Primarily working outdoors
8. Other related duties as assigned

This position requires working Monday to Friday, from 06:30 am to 3:00 pm, with some weekend overtime and occasional travel for road work. Schedule adjustments may occur based on business needs.

Requirements:

1. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
2. Strong communication skills
3. Solid mechanical background with safe use of hand tools and power equipment
4. Ability to read and understand work orders, MSDS, and complete documentation
5. Experience in railcar repair or similar, knowledge of AAR standards is an asset
6. Ability to perform quality control checks
7. Compliance with health and safety standards, including PPE usage
8. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with exposure to dust, fumes, and noise
9. Capability to work with respiratory protection, climb, stoop, bend, and carry tools
10. Experience with confined space entry and hazardous materials handling, WHMIS training
11. Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and around machinery
12. Attention to detail and commitment to quality
13. Ability to work independently and in a team
14. Proactive attitude and initiative
15. Successful completion of medical testing upon hire
