WE’RE LOOKING FOR A MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION MANAGER

POSITION LOCATION: FORT ERIE, ONTARIO

The Manufacturing Production Manager reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of manufacturing production, ensuring the delivery of on-cost, on-quality, and on-time parts to internal and external stakeholders. The Manufacturing Production Manager is also responsible for developing employees and processes to support Airbus Helicopters Canada Ltd as the Center of Excellence for Composite Manufacturing within Airbus.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Management & Coordination
  • Responsible for production activities in accordance with the Master Production Schedule, achieving KPIs such as:
    • On Time Delivery
    • On Time Quality/Right First Time
    • Production hourly rate
    • Non-productive time bookings (indirect hours)
    • Program Hours/Product Cost
    • Premium Freight
  • Develop production schedules and recovery plans.
  • Liaise with supporting departments to ensure smooth production flow and escalate roadblocks to meet deadlines and KPIs.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigation and action plans.
  • Monitor capacity and workload to ensure proper staffing.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of metrics to management.
  • Ensure health, safety, and a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Train manufacturing employees effectively to address needs and deficiencies.
  • Maintain a compliant and ready production environment (5S, FOD Awareness).
  • Support new business processes or changes, assessing their impact on manufacturing.
  • Develop and adhere to departmental budgets.
  • Engage in regular customer interactions regarding delivery and schedules.
Team Management
  • Foster a team environment aligned with Airbus values.
  • Lead and mentor Production Supervisors for productivity and safety.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, safety, security, communication, trust, innovation, and problem-solving.
  • Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and training.
  • Monitor performance, attendance, and overtime of employees.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CSMP, or CPIM are assets.
Experience
  • 7-10 years in Production Management.
  • 5+ years in Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing.
  • Management and leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100; EASA experience is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities
  • Deep knowledge of composite and metallic manufacturing processes, including painting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time-sensitive demands.
  • Proven leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Customer focus and business orientation.
  • Project management mindset.
  • Innovative thinking.
  • Advanced computer skills; bilingualism (French-English) or (German-English) is an asset.
Technical Systems Proficiency
  • Proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Experience with SAP (inventory, stock, labor reporting).
  • Understanding of metrology and quality operations is a plus.
