Your Role and How You Will Contribute:

Based in downtown Toronto and reporting to the Vice President of Shareholder Advisory, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive research, reporting, and administrative support. Your primary responsibility will be delivering advisory services and analysis using databases, electronic spreadsheets, presentations, and detailed reports for public companies in Canada and the United States. This position offers an opportunity to engage in North America’s highest-profile shareholder meetings, M&A activities, activist engagements, and proxy contests. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our downtown Toronto office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage across multiple Kingsdale business lines, including Proxy Solicitation, Strategic & Defense Advisory, Shareholder Identification, Governance Advisory, and Voting Analytics.
  • Maintain and organize pertinent client materials in the in-house filing system (electronic/hard copy).
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing documentation such as public filings, press releases, and proxy materials.
  • Aggregate market intelligence by monitoring shareholder positions and trading activities.
  • Contribute to vulnerability analyses for contested situations and transactions.
  • Prepare and interpret proxy voting reports for public issuer annual and special shareholder meetings.
  • Reconcile vote discrepancies through data collection and analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison between intermediaries, transfer agents, and custodians, ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
  • Represent Kingsdale Advisors at client/shareholder/corporate meetings or events.

Qualifications:

  • Strong reporting skills with attention to detail and a focus on deadlines and client confidentiality.
  • Experienced team player with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and resolving client issues professionally.
  • Reliable, responsible, and motivated individual with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to work overtime when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and advanced PowerPoint skills.

Education:

  • University or College education in Business Administration or related discipline.
  • 1-2 years of experience in data analysis or similar role.
