As the Family Support Worker at the YMCA, you support parents and caregivers who have children ages 7-18. The position works with families within the Family Connect Family Supports program. You will work with participants in their homes, providing support for child and youth development and their well-being, increasing caregiver capacity, social connections, and support. This will be done through in-person, virtual, and community-based visits. You will provide in-home support to caregivers through supportive counselling, resources, referrals, and increasing parent knowledge. This position requires regular use of a vehicle. You must be able to support a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and occasional weekends as we meet the families where they are. This position also requires networking and event planning within the team dynamics.
With support from your leaders, you will further develop your interpersonal and communication skills as we strive to approach our work with a high degree of professionalism. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse populations and help them overcome their unique challenges.
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, flexible schedule required including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
