Job description

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a Mental Health Leadership Team Member, the Mental Health Provider, Generalist, will provide mental health services in an integrated health care agency serving UW-Madison students across identities and programs. The responsibilities include:

Principal duties:
  1. Provides individual and group therapy services;
  2. Participates in clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services (during business hours);
  3. Provides campus-based services/outreach including programming and consultation;
  4. Responds to campus crises;
  5. Additional options for Direct Clinical Services may include behavioral health interventions within Medical Services, couple/partner therapy, supervision of trainees, and administration and interpretation of assessment measures;
  6. Develops teaching relationships with academic departments;
  7. Administers and interprets limited assessment measures.
Administrative Duties:
  1. Maintains accurate documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations;
  2. Contributes to the development and implementation of programs and services at MHS;
  3. Collaborates with providers and staff across campus;
  4. Follows agency policies, state statutes, ethical guidelines, HIPAA, and FERPA;
  5. Attends staff and workgroup meetings, professional development activities, and serves on committees;
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:

Provides mental health counseling and consultation, creates programming to promote healthy lifestyles, and advocates for campus mental health initiatives. Specific tasks include:

  • Providing individual and group counseling (65%)
  • Offering counseling and referral services to faculty and staff (10%)
  • Facilitating psycho-educational groups (10%)
  • Preparing and facilitating outreach programs (10%)
  • Serving on campus committees (5%)

Education:

Required: Master's Degree in counseling or related mental health field. If you are a Social Worker or Psychologist, apply to the relevant posting.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: At least 1 year of experience in a mental health setting. PREFERRED: Two years' experience, including providing counseling, crisis assessment, collaboration, and use of electronic health records. Experience with intersectionality, supervision, and multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.

License/Certification:

Required: LPC license or completion of licensure hours within specified timeframes. Preferred: LMAFT license with similar requirements.

Work Type:

Full-time, with some remote work possible. In-person work may be required.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Ongoing/Renewable.

Salary:

Minimum $62,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
