As an Accountant in the Finance team, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the books and records of the company and its subsidiaries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies and procedures. The accountant collaborates with the Corporate Accounting Manager to produce detailed analytical reports supporting financial data. This position is key in preparing monthly financial statements, year-end audits, and annual budgets and forecasts.

What does your typical day look like?

• Collaborate with the Corporate Accounting Manager and site controllers to produce monthly financial statements;
• Assist in preparing external audit documentation;
• Conduct financial analysis on financial statements, highlight performance issues, and prepare reports for management;
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts promptly, including intercompany transactions;
• Research and resolve outstanding, out-of-balance, or stale-dated items.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field;
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the financial or travel insurance industry;
• CPA designation is a plus;
• Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written); English is used daily for communication across departments and locations such as Ontario, Miami, Mexico, etc.;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Basic knowledge of taxation regulations;
• Strong analytical and reporting skills;
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
• Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive is an asset.
