The Senate of Canada is seeking a Senior Advisor for Investigations and Risk Management to lead complex investigations and conduct risk assessments within the Parliamentary Precinct. How will you contribute?
The incumbent is accountable for supporting and leading multi-disciplinary teams or individually conducting complex and sensitive investigations of incidents, breaches and other security related threats and occurrences within the Parliamentary Precinct. Responsibilities include conducting thorough risk assessments of senators' primary and / or secondary residences and other Senate facilities, ensuring effective collaboration with partner agencies, and preparing reports with recommendations for senior management and / or individual Senators.
The incumbent will also develop or recommend changes to investigative standards, policies, processes, controls, and tools, and implement best practices. Responsibilities require conducting threat and risk assessments involving Senators, Senate personnel, assets, facilities, and information through the establishment of partnerships with the police and intelligence community.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring threat cues and emerging security matters are assessed and proactively examined for an array of corporate security programs, including the mobile duress program and security assessments program, and coordinates risk evaluation with the Senate OSINT specialist. They will implement necessary mitigating security strategies, identify appropriate safeguards and security measures, and support briefings to Senators, Senate Administration senior management, and Parliamentarians. Additionally, the incumbent coordinates security assessments of all domestic and international travelling committees and reviews, assesses, and makes security-related recommendations on Use of Parliament Hill requests and major events on behalf of the Speaker’s office.

The general public to staff two (1) indeterminate full-time positions in the Corporate Security Directorate. This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.
