About the role

Join the Analytics Center of Enablement Team in the Analytics Community of Practice Lead position. As the Community of Practice Lead, you will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and innovation within the analytics domain. This position demands a forward-thinking approach to cultivate a dynamic community that bridges organizational silos and empowers members to thrive. By leveraging strategic frameworks, you will harness best practices, emerging trends, and hands-on mentorship to drive collective expertise, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Your ability to effectively engage stakeholders across diverse disciplines, external partners and other government and crown organizations will be crucial in establishing a vibrant space for shared learning and continuous development, setting the foundation for sustainable growth and success within the analytics ecosystem.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development and execution of short-, medium- and long- term tactics for the implementation of the community as well as the continuous improvement and engagement. Applies change management techniques to introduce and maintain engagement in the community.
  • Lead communication forums with key stakeholders across varying management levels to support the prioritization of use cases and requests.
  • Coach members with a view to obtaining certifications, accreditations and/ or other items that are relevant and desirable for their roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of gamification in the communities (Analytics / Technology tools)
  • Developand rolls out the communication plan, including development of the community site, launch, gather and promotion of members achievements, provide space to showcase work completed, identify and publish relevant articles, ted talks, etc., provide space for IT governance updates and introduce new tools to the community.
  • Definethe community governance and coordinates cadence of meetings with the community, including development of agendas, creating and collecting materials and managing presenters (as applicable).
  • Developa measurement framework, including monthly indicators to determine engagement and improvement of the community.
  • Developtraining materials and guidelines and procedures, works with HR to update various HR related programs (e.g. Talent acquisition and retention, JD's, Competencies).


What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering or a related field combined with demonstrated experience in leading others through change or managing communities of practice OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in data and analytics, with a strong background in leading and managing communities of practice. Proven expertise in fostering collaboration, leveraging best practices, and engaging stakeholders. Proficiency in tools like Databricks and Fabric / Power BI is essential, certifications highly valued.
  • The ability to foster inclusive and innovative working environments and ability to build strong relationships with analytic / quantitative resources.
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills (written, verbal and cross-cultural communication skills), including the ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles as well as communicating messages that have the desired impact.
  • The ability to drive next generation technologies.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, influencing and relationship building skills with the ability to understand issues at a detail level and forecast impacts of change.


It would be great if you also had:

  • Demonstrated experience in training or event organization and communications.
  • Change management experience or certifications (Prosci).
  • CMHC/Financial/Insurance business knowledge.
  • Agile & DevOps knowledge.
  • The proficiency to speak in both official languages.
