Job description

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT), reporting to the Senior Manager, Project Supply Chain Management, this role ensures the procurement of goods and services for the Ramp Up Program is completed cost-effectively and timely. The Procurement Specialist, Projects, builds relationships with internal stakeholders within the IPMT and across KSPC to proactively meet procurement needs. Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Analyzing purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Issuing bid requests to potential vendors and suppliers.
  3. Reviewing and analyzing quotes to secure the most competitive bids.
  4. Overseeing procurement strategies based on total cost, timeliness, bidding process, and existing contracts, following guidance from the Superintendent level.
  5. Leading procurement of strategic and high-value orders, including outlining agreements and material contracts.
  6. Placing orders for requisitioned items or services.
  7. Collaborating with departments to clarify purchase requisitions, identify needs, and refine specifications for future orders.
  8. Providing or supporting post-award services such as expediting, dispute resolution, and returns for internal stakeholders.
  9. Reviewing and modifying procurement processes and procedures.
  10. Training internal departments and external vendors on purchasing procedures.
  11. Processing transactions in compliance with local and federal policies.
  12. Facilitating reviews and negotiations of terms and conditions.
  13. Making purchase decisions according to company policies and regulations.
  14. Supporting internal KPI requirements, including cost savings, PO cycle time, tracking, inclusion and diversity, and Indigenous Relations initiatives.

YOUR PROFILE

Our company values workforce diversity and encourages candidates with a combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of relevant project management experience, preferably in a multi-plant environment.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Accounting, Purchasing, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications include Supply Chain Certification, SCM Diploma, SCMP Designation, or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership and relationship-building skills with internal and external clients.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing principles, including research, negotiation, and closing efforts ethically and effectively.
  • Familiarity with contracting, especially for long-term or large-volume agreements.
  • Excellent computer skills, including ERPs, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to organize data coherently for strategic decision-making.
