Qualifications

Job description

The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor Administrative Professional: Legal Services. Position Type : Term to June 2026

Location : Saint John

Salary Range : $2454.00 to $3458.00 biweekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step up to $3776.00 biweekly based on their level of postsecondary education.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

As part of the Wesley Armour School of Business and reporting to the Academic Chair of Business, the Instructor Administrative Professional: Legal Services is responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as performing other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to:

Administrative procedures relating to :

  • Family Law
  • Corporate Law

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices. Additionally, they will plan, evaluate, and monitor student practicum placements.

Qualifications

Education / Experience :

  • Diploma or Degree in Administrative Professional: Legal Services or a related discipline.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience providing administrative support in a law firm.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a criminal background check.
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures, documentation, and the Canadian legal system, particularly as it relates to New Brunswick.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching in a postsecondary environment in a blended delivery format.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office and legal office software is required.

This position is a unionized position under the NBUPPE Education (Instructional) Group collective agreement for the College.
