Note: The level of the position may vary depending on the profile of the selected candidate.

Within the External Funds and Management team, the role involves conducting Operational Due Diligence (RDD). The primary mission is to ensure that the practices of external managers and the structure of their investment vehicles meet CDPQ's criteria, thereby mitigating operational, business, and reputational risks.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the selection of external managers by participating in the RDD process.
  • Monitor external managers in the portfolio, including updating RDD assessments periodically.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize tools to support RDD analyses.
  • Gather and analyze various data and information to monitor external managers.
  • Collaborate with different expert groups within the organization to support RDD recommendations (risk management, sustainable investing, cybersecurity, legal affairs, taxation, accounting).
  • Participate in the transactional coordination of investments with external managers.
  • Develop practices to deepen the RDD process.

What you bring

  • A master's degree in finance or a related field
  • Three to five years of relevant experience, especially in operational due diligence
  • Good knowledge of external management models (separate accounts, dedicated funds, mutual funds)
  • Understanding of operational processes related to investment activities
  • Deep knowledge of financial instruments
  • Excellent writing skills and a taste for documentation
  • Project coordination experience is a plus
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written

Note: International travel may be required.

*Interactions with external partners outside Quebec (service providers, law firms, peers, bankers, brokerage firms, credit analysis firms, credit agencies, etc.)
