Description

My client is one of Canada’s largest P&C insurance companies, looking for a Senior Underwriting Specialist to focus on large complex casualty business. This is a hybrid role going into the downtown office twice per week. If you have experience working on large corporate casualty business, have strong relationships with the large brokerages and enjoy helping team members, we should talk.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, ensuring both top-line growth and profitability.
  • Focus on large Commercial Casualty and Multinational Business.
  • Develop and uphold positive relationships with brokers and clients to achieve favorable results for the company, brokers, and customers.
  • Provide responsive, comprehensive service to our customers and brokers.
  • Navigate and maintain records in Salesforce with flawless accuracy.
  • Coordinate and communicate account details with other product line underwriters.
  • Adhere to risk and control procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate potential issues.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of technical commercial casualty lines business experience.
  • University degree or college diploma in Insurance, CIP is preferred.
  • A strong presence in the Toronto insurance market among brokers and risk managers.
  • Proven marketing and relationship-building skills with both internal and external partners.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiating abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make impactful decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A professional attitude and a dedication to improving the broker/customer experience.
  • Proficiency in data analytics would be an asset.
