AZ/DZ Driver

We are currently seeking an AZ/DZ Driver to join the team in our Pembroke location. The AZ/DZ driver will be responsible for hauling deliveries of steel to a variety of customers all over Ontario and/or our Richmond Hill shop.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operating and driving straight or articulate trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Hauling reinforcing steel on a flat-bed trailer.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, and brakes.
• Minor truck maintenance i.e. adding oil, fueling.
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.
• Responsible for completing a pre and post inspection of the vehicle each day before operating.
• Responsible for documenting all inspections to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
• Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and working in a variety of environments, both internal and external in all types of weather conditions.
• Follow all plant and company safety guidelines in the performance of all job duties and responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Valid A or D License / Air brake (Z) endorsement.
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience with an AZ/DZ license.
• Experience hauling steel would be an asset.
• Clean Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate.
• Sound knowledge of safe driving practices.
• Previous experience working in an industrial environment is an asset.
• Previous experience in machine operation is an asset.
