The opportunity…
Reporting to the Vice President of YDC, this Senior Policy Advisor leads strategic and operational policy development, including planning, research, drafting, and providing recommendations and briefings senior leadership. The advisor champions YDC projects, managing processes, and coordinating energy initiatives with Yukon Energy Corporation, Department of Energy Mines and Resources, Yukon First Nations, and other stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

- Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Economics or a related field
- Significant experience researching, analyzing, developing, writing and evaluating department and corporate-level policies, policy briefs and reports and navigating government policy development and approval processes
- Significant experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to decision-makers on complex issues
- Considerable experience interpreting legislation, intergovernmental agreements, policies and caselaw.
- Experience working with First Nation governments and/or organizations in alignment with the Final Agreements and constitutional obligations.
- Experience leading collaborative stakeholder engagement processes would be an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
