Job summary

WSÁNEĆ School Board, rooted in WSÁNEĆ traditional territories north of Victoria, B.C., seeks an On-Call Early Childhood Assistant to support planning and delivery of quality care for children across infant/toddler, 3–5, or after-school programs as needed.

Under the Program Coordinator, you will help ensure safety, health and nutrition while adhering to licensing regulations and Board policies. Preference given to First Nations ancestry.

Qualifications

• Must have an EC Assistant Certificate.
• One year related experience.
• Valid Child First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Criminal Record Check and BC Class 5 Driver’s License.

• Support program planning and assist in the delivery of quality care to children in infants/toddlers; or 3 to 5 years old; or after school program as required.
• Work under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in accordance with licensing regulations and WSÁNEĆ School Board policy to provide quality care and ensure health, nutrition and safety of the children.

Summary

Responsible for supporting program planning and assisting in the delivery of quality care to children in the infants and toddlers; or 3 to 5 year old; or in the after school program area as required and in accordance with their skill level.

Scope

Work under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in accordance with Child Care Licensing Regulations and WSÁNEĆ School Board (WSB) policy/procedure to provide quality care and the health, nutrition and safety of the children under care.

Qualifications
