RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary
Department / Research Program: Neuroepidemiology Research Unit / BRaIN Program
The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) is a national study of adult development and aging that has been in the field since 2011 and has recruited more than 50,000 individuals across Canada. Information is being collected through in person interviews, telephone interviews, and physical assessments. For more information on the CLSA: www.clsa-elcv.ca
The Montreal CLSA Data Collection Site (DCS) is located at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre. Now in its fifth wave of data collection, the Montreal CLSA DCS is recruiting an interviewer to conduct in-person interviews in the homes of CLSA participants who are now between the ages of 57 and 97.
General Duties
- Make phone calls to schedule interviews with study participants,
- Travel to participants’ homes to conduct interviews using a computer-assisted interview system (the territory includes the island of Montreal, Laval, the South Shore, and a few participants on the North Shore),
- Conduct in-person interviews to collect information on health and well-being through questionnaires,
- Export completed interviews via the internet,
- Deliver wearable technology (e.g. Smartwatch) to participants and explain their use,
- Training will be provided on all aspects of the work.

Education / Experience
Education: High School Education
Field of Study: Sociology, psychology or associated disciplines.
Other education considered an asset for this position: Research training that includes original data collection
Work Experience: Experience working with the public (essential), experience conducting interviews (an asset)

Required Skills
- Fluent in spoken French and English (ESSENTIAL),
- Access to use of a car (ESSENTIAL),
- Own a cell phone (ESSENTIAL),
- Flexible schedule to be able to offer appointments to participants during the day, evenings, and on weekends,
- Excellent time management skills,
- Customer service focused,
- Good communication skills and positive attitude,
- Highest standards of professionalism and respect for confidentiality,
- Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask,
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Additional information
Status : Temporary Occasional
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education & work experience. The annual salary range for an equivalent full time position is $29,374.80 - $48,102.60.
***The payment is per completed interview (payment includes travel time and any associated travel costs)***
Work Shift: Variable Schedule
Flexible schedule (according to the availability of participants) – day, evening, weekend
Work Site: 2155 Guy Street
Required to come on site once per two weeks to collect wearable technology for delivery to participants.
