Job description

Position Summary
We have an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to consult to the Mental Health (MH) Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams within Interior Health. This position is based out of the Community Health and Services Centre in beautiful and sunny Kelowna, B.C.

Salary Range:
Effective April 1, 2024, the pay scale for this position is $52.81 to $65.96.

**Eligible applicants can receive up to $15K signing bonus.

Who are we looking for?
A Clinical Psychologist with experience providing an array of services to a population with diverse and complex mental health presentations. This individual should be able to work well independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

What will you work on?
The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological services, including assessment, individual and group therapy, and consultation for conceptualization, treatment planning, and behaviour management to the ACT teams and their clients. In addition to direct service provision, the Clinical Psychologist contributes to ongoing quality improvement, program development, evaluation, and research.

Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provides comprehensive psychological assessment services, utilizing standardized and evidenced-based interview and assessment procedures.
  2. Incorporates psychological assessment results with the broader treatment plan.
  3. Provides evidenced-based individual short-term therapy/counseling interventions.
  4. Participates in client/patient conferences and team meetings as required.
  5. Supports an interdisciplinary approach to client/patient care.
  6. Provides consultation regarding management and/or treatment of mental, behavioural, adjustment and psychosocial disorders.
  7. Evaluates effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment.
  8. Maintains and orders psychological assessment materials.
  9. Supports evidence-based clinical practice.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Scheduling Information:
Shift types for this position are days and shift times are from 08:00 to 16:00 hours.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
  1. Ph.D. in Psychology from a university recognized by the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, with an approved pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology.
  2. Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (or eligible for registration).
  3. Five years recent related experience in clinical psychology in the assigned clinical practice area(s).
