As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. As a team lead, you will deploy partners and delegate tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You will be responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, and you’ll be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work, where people love what they do.
Summary Of Key Responsibilities
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks.
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
- Anticipate customer and store needs by evaluating environment and customers for cues.
- Communicate information to the manager so the team can respond accordingly to create the Third Place environment during each shift.
- Assist with new partner training by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching as needed.
- Provide feedback to the store manager on partner performance during the shift.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in partner morale and performance and communicating these to the store manager.
- Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and improve partner performance.
- Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with them.
- Discover and respond to customer needs.
- Develop positive relationships with the shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivations, needs, and concerns.
- Execute store operations during scheduled shifts.
- Organize opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety/security, to ensure partner safety during each shift.
- Follow all cash management policies and ensure proper practices are followed by the shift team.
- Follow up with baristas during the shift to ensure delivery of legendary customer service.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently by adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using organizational tools and collaborate with the store manager to find new recognition methods.
- Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during the shift.
