Position Summary:

CSN Tilbury is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. Our Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent is detail-oriented and can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  • Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed.
  • Thoroughly examine collision damage.
  • Perform structural and complete body repairs.
  • Straighten bent frames using appropriate equipment.
  • Weld on vehicles using MIG welders and compression spot welders.
  • Dismantle damaged areas to identify hidden damages.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces.
  • Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting.
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
  • Restore vehicle to factory specifications.
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive for proper handling.
  • Read and understand estimates and automotive repair procedures.
  • Work with a variety of materials and parts.
  • Experience with frame and measuring equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles.
  • Follow standardized production processes.
  • Be a great CSN ambassador.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Auto Body Repair and refinishing experience required.
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License (310Q) preferred or in a registered apprenticeship program.
  • Technicians with I-Car and OEM certifications are favorable.
  • Must have I-Car Welding certification.
  • Must have Vocational Certificate in Collision Repair.
  • Ability to carry, lift 100 lbs, stand, sit, walk, and reach.
  • Valid Driver's license required.
  • Must have own tools and safety footwear.
  • Up-to-date Compliance Training (AODA, WHMIS, Worker Health and Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence and Harassment) and knowledge of Information Security (PIPEDA).
  • 3 to 5 years of working knowledge of Mitchell/Audatex.
