Job description

The Electronics Technician - Apprentice will be a member of the Maintenance department responsible for addressing electrical issues and performing preventative maintenance on all components of Calfrac equipment. Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, the Electronics Technician - Apprentice will focus on the repair and maintenance of all Calfrac equipment to company standards.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES :
  1. Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  2. Repair and maintain all Calfrac electrical equipment and components.
  3. Maintain all recording and control software.
  4. Complete updates and modification requests.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance regularly.
  6. Assist in scheduling and cost estimation for repairs.
  7. Develop a foundational understanding of fracturing, coiled tubing, and cementing operations.

  1. Flexible to work various shifts (day, night, shift work).
  2. Follow and enforce safe work procedures, codes, and regulations.

  7. Work under physically demanding circumstances.
  8. Capability to write reports and collaborate with maintenance administration personnel.
  9. Ability to operate process control equipment.
  10. Mechanically inclined.
  11. This position is considered a Safety Sensitive Position and may require additional screening.
  12. This position has physical requirements and may require additional screening.
SCHEDULE :
  1. Local: Eight (8) days on, six (6) days off.
  2. Rotational: Fourteen (14) days on, fourteen (14) days off.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
  1. Enrolled in or working towards an accredited one- or two-year technical school program or Journeyman Instrumentation Certification.
  2. Good understanding and experience with basic hydraulic systems.
  3. Experience with electric over hydraulic/air and PLC systems is an asset.
  4. High School Diploma / GED preferred.
  5. Technical training diploma or certificate in electronics recommended.
  6. Knowledge of electronic control systems, QA/QC, and troubleshooting.
