Food Service Sales Representative - Greater Vancouver, BC (Home Based)

Our client, a national food distributor, is seeking a high-potential individual to join as a Food Service Sales Associate. The ideal candidate will understand the complexities of the Food Service industry and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A positive attitude and drive to succeed are essential.

This role involves supporting the Sales department in achieving sales goals, with local travel for customer meetings. The position interacts with retail establishments, restaurants, and distributors to maintain and grow customer accounts. The candidate should aim for a career in the food industry and be capable of working independently. Flexibility to work from home when not meeting clients is provided.

Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and sell the company's products to accounts.
  2. Develop business and sales plans (volume, profitability, promotional activities).
  3. Understand the company's challenges and strategic directions.
  4. Monitor budgets for each account.
  5. Ensure commitments to the company are met in collaboration with internal teams.
  6. Manage category and product performance based on results and strategies.
  7. Coordinate and introduce new products internally and with clients.
  8. Conduct product and market research.
  9. Resolve customer issues professionally and promptly.
  10. Build and maintain long-term relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or technical certificate preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of sales or Foodservice industry experience.
  • Strong communication, time, and priority management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for maintaining client relations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with PC applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce).
  • Valid driver's license.
