Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: Salary commensurate with experience
- Shift & Schedule: Full Time October through May
- Skill Level: Advanced
Guide Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead weather decision-making in the early morning
- Participate in go/no-go meetings and field area selection
- Oversee risk management with Operations Manager and GM
- Lead guides and oversee guest grouping in the evenings
- Plan daily operations and logistics with the management team
- Coordinate scheduling and training for guides and staff
- Monitor helicopter flying times and expenses
- Ensure rescue preparedness and safety standards
- Innovate and work on special projects to improve operations
- Document incidents and accidents for insurance and education
- Supervise guiding staff and maintain a positive environment
- Manage avalanche data and ensure information availability
- Maintain communication flow between guides, clients, and staff
- Foster positive employee relations and ensure safety compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Lead Guiding Responsibilities:
- Brief guides and pilots on daily plans
- Ensure helicopter is equipped with rescue gear
- Coordinate groups and monitor field activities
- Greet guests professionally
- Conduct safety training and orientation
- Transport clients and deliver backcountry experiences
- Guide clients safely, avoiding hazards
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain readiness for emergencies
- Assess snowpack stability and share observations
- Coordinate lunch and lead midday meetings
- Record extra runs and communicate with staff
- Attend meetings and ensure efficient helicopter use
- Complete required documentation daily
Job Qualifications:
- CSGA Level 3, ACMG Ski Guide, or IFMGA Mountain Guide with >75 guiding days under mentorship
- Meet CPD guiding requirements
- Professional CAA membership
- Current 80-hour First Aid and AED certifications
- Valid BC Class 4 Driver’s License with a clean record
- Ten years of heli-ski operational experience
- Over 5 years in leadership roles
- Experience managing and scheduling teams
