Job Description:

• Install and overhaul heating systems;
• Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems;
• Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation;
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation;
• Prepare tenders and quotations;
• Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements;
• Troubleshoot heating systems;
• Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems;
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components;
• Coach and instruct apprentices;
• Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment;
• Provide customer service;
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices;
• Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system;
• Handle, recover and store refrigerants;
• Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems;
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance and customer satisfaction;
• Document service and installation actions by completing electronic forms, reports, logs, and records:
• Lead and participate in daily HSE meetings;
• Service new and existing accounts by analyzing work orders, investigating complaints, identifying solutions, conducting tests, and resolving problems.

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience AND industry courses in refrigeration and air conditioning repair is required. If the candidate does not have the experience, completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program is required to be eligible for trade certification.
• Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics Certification or being eligible for the certification is needed.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable 5 year driving abstract;
• Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, Fall Protection, AWP, H2S Alive, considered an asset.
• Work conditions and physical capabilities:Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity, Willingness to travel to customer sites when required throughout Western Canada.

• Salary: $51.76 Hourly, 40 hours per week.

• Important Information:Flexibility in schedule is required. We’re available around the clock, 365 days a year. Normal work schedule is from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. On-call and weekend work will be required depending on the business’ needs.
