What you'll be doing

You’ll play a key role in the Data Protection Services team, an innovative group providing enterprise-level services such as Data Element Level Protection (DELP), Test Data as a Service (TDaaS), and Data Discovery and Remediation (DDaR). As a Data Security Engineer, you will collaborate with business partners, vendors, consumers, QA, and Application Operations (AO) teams on integration, configuration, development, implementation, troubleshooting, service delivery, and production support.

At CIBC, we offer a flexible hybrid work environment, allowing you to work remotely with about 5 days per month on-site.

How you'll succeed
  • Design, Develop, and Support: Act as a Subject Matter Expert in analyzing requirements, estimating work packages, and coordinating end-to-end solutions. Develop cost-effective, innovative solutions aligning with business goals, document designs, and create playbooks for team use. Collaborate with partners to deploy technical solutions using Azure tools like Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, ADF, and Azure Blob/ADLS. Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and work with AO teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Programming Ability: Develop specifications, code, test, debug, document, and automate applications using DevOps CI/CD pipelines to ensure successful deployment and maintenance.
  • Lead & Influence: Lead code reviews, ensure code quality, support user acceptance testing, troubleshoot complex application issues, and work with consumers to integrate protection services effectively.
Who you are
  • Knowledge & Experience: 5+ years of hands-on IT experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, Linux OS, Shell scripting, ETL processes, data lakes, and data pipelines. Proficiency in Python, Scala, SQL, and DevOps tools like Github/Git Actions, CI/CD, and Artifactory.
  • Influence & Collaboration: You build relationships, enable services for business, and inspire outcomes through effective communication.
  • Team & Client Focus: You believe in collective success, enjoy teamwork, and are passionate about delivering positive client experiences.
  • Values: You bring authenticity, trust, teamwork, and accountability to your work.
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
