What is the opportunity?

This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside John Stackhouse, Senior Vice-President to advance RBC’s thought leadership platform across key issues shaping the future. In this hands-on, fast-moving role, you’ll help amplify John’s voice and ideas internally and externally by managing strategic priorities, coordinating across teams, and ensuring timely execution of high-impact content, projects, and engagements.

You’ll be responsible for preparing briefing notes, tracking deliverables, managing content coordination, and supporting his public presence—from speaking engagements and podcast production to social media and partner outreach.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain forward-looking strategic calendar that includes engagements with all stakeholders, market visits, speaking requests and events
  • Develop material and briefing packages, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, to curate insights for events, engagements, meetings, roundtables, social media and podcast
  • Shape agendas, track and follow up on actions (internal and external) for priorities and commitments across strategic partnership groups
  • Identify key stakeholders, map out an engagement plan and lead outreach with both internally and externally
  • Support in the development and preparation for podcast, planning sessions, and coordination with media teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to amplify content and commentary across channels including social media
  • Track and follow up on internal and external priorities and commitments.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7–10 years’ experience in executive-level support, communications, public policy, or government
  • Strong ability to prioritize competing requests and effectively allocate resources while consistently meeting high standards of quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship builder who can engage senior leaders and external stakeholders with ease
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to confidently influence and provide strategic guidance to senior leaders.
