Our fast-growing company is currently hiring a Quality Technician I. Blackline Safety is a leader in products and services for worker safety monitoring and security tracking. We offer solutions that deliver safety, security, and location awareness through innovative wireless hardware and custom user interfaces. Our vision is to become the world leader of worker safety monitoring. The role of the Quality Technician is to conduct failure analysis, execute test cases and report on issues when investigating the products that Blackline Safety produces.

This is a full-time permanent position.
Skills and Aptitudes:
- You have a diploma or degree in electronics, instrumentation, computer or mechanical technology from a recognized institution
- You have minimum 1 year experience in a technical or service role (3 years of industry experience without education will be considered)
- You are fluent in written and spoken English
- You have strength in a technical capacity and able to understand and process technical issues
- You demonstrate verbal and written business communication skills that are clear, concise, courteous, and professional
- You are computer literate including the Microsoft Suite of products
- You can read and understand electronic schematics and troubleshoot circuit boards
- You are organized, detail-oriented and can prioritize tasks
- You are a team player who offers solutions and ideas to continually improve the business
- You are proactive in your approach to customer issues
- You are outgoing, courteous, ambitious, and presentable with a professional demeanor
Responsibilities:
- Meet quality goals and benchmarks as set by Management
- Technical support and troubleshooting
- Failure analysis of product returned by customers
- Laboratory testing of samples – electronics, mechanical, gas testing
- Repair and inspect PCBA’s according to IPC standards
- Contribute to and author test summaries
- Present and report findings to cross-functional teams
- Provide analysis of failure modes to Operations, Engineering and Quality
- Recommend actions or solutions to improve products
- Project work for continuous improvement
- Process requests/tickets through our various systems: NetSuite, JIRA

Education:
- Diploma/Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer or Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution. Industry experience without education will be considered.
Experience:
- Technical/Service: 1 year (3 years required if without education)
- Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
- NetSuite/ERP Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Lean and Six Sigma: 1 year (Preferred)
