Job description

NSB Omega is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer for our major Oil & Gas client located in Sarnia, ON.

Assignment Description

Main Functions : The Cost Engineer will perform or coordinate efforts for cost estimate preparation, estimating oversight, and quality assurance reviews for company-operated and other builder operator estimates across all gate and funding milestones. Responsibilities also include preparing check estimates and schedules to compare with operator-prepared submittals, participating in estimate and schedule assessments, and contributing to process improvements in estimating group and quality assurance reviews.

Tasks and Responsibilities

In addition to Level 1 and 2 tasks, a Level 3 Cost Engineer will :

• Maintain change control, cost reports, and related documentation.
• Collaborate with project estimators, planners, schedulers, and client accounting staff.
• Coordinate and compile monthly progress reports.
• Work closely with the project manager and team leads to meet regulated and non-regulated accounting reporting requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to broker solutions among internal teams.
• Advanced proficiency in cost estimating, project planning, and project controls.
• Excellent influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills.
• Adaptability to changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and manage cross-functional activities effectively.

Duration

1 Year with the possibility of extension.
