Qualifications

We are seeking a Residential Solar PV Installers Level I/ II/ III to join GreenSpark Solar's residential installation department! This person will be responsible for overseeing various functional areas, including but not limited to complex areas such as, ensuring productivity of the roof crew while allowing Crew Lead to focus on AC/Interconnection side of installation. This person will plan, lead and/or perform roof layout on any roof type according to design plans. Assemble solar modules, mechanical and structural mount and racking of electrical equipment and wiring installation of equipment.The Residential Solar PV Installer day to day activities might include:

  • Perform general construction tasks, and operation of hand, and power tools, with occasional heavy machinery to iInstall photovoltaic (PV) systems to include: racking, home runs, bonding, conduit runs, properly seal all roof penetrations and conduit between solar arrays and inverter(s), wire management and trench work;

  • Installation of the system mounts, rails, wiring, grounding/bonding, and modules

  • Install system to design specifications to meet the highest quality standards in accordance with all applicable codes and standards;

  • Manage roof setup, safety setup, and job-site clean up

  • Heavy lifting of modules, ballasts, and installation material to the location of the installation, typically via the use of ladders or lifts;

  • Communicate and interact with office personnel for the delivery of job documents, including warehouse inventory, site photos and job completion documents

  • Oversee the quality of work and aesthetics of roof installation to match customer expectation and maintains high levels of quality assurance and quality controls

  • Load/unload/clean van daily for efficient work flow on the job site and maintain assigned tools and equipment

  • Ensure personal, crew, and job site safety by meeting OSHA and company standards at all times;

These are our education & qualification requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License (within 3 months of start date)

  • Usage and ability to operate a Smartphone

  • Background knowledge in solar installation projects experience or equivalent work experience

  • Construction trade with emphasis on roofing or electrical knowledge

  • Experience with thoughtful, data-informed, problem solving

  • Roof layout/racking experience

  • Team communication, install crews are between 3-6 members, essential everyone is communicated to effectively to ensure efficient installation

  • PV module installation

  • Conduit/wire pulls/DC terminations

  • Team player, comfortable delegating work and able to problem solve.

  • Commitment to safety - an unwavering sense of personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of your coworkers, and a willingness to speak up and take action when you recognize hazardous conditions or behaviors

Work Environment

  • Working at heights of 20 feet off the ground or more

  • Lifting and moving of heavy equipment

  • Working in extreme hot/cold temperatures

  • Climbing up and down a ladder throughout the workday

  • 8 - 10 hour days, 5 days a week starting at 7AM

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10

  • Driver’s license

  • Pay Range: $17-32 per hour depending on experience

    • Level I: $17 - $20

    • Level II: $21 - $23

    • Level III: $24 - $27

    • Level IV: $28 - $32
