Your Contribution

Englobe is looking for a Transportation Engineer/Technologist to work out of the Fredericton, New Brunswick office as part of our Transportation Engineering Team. We are looking for someone with a background in civil or transportation engineering who is interested in transportation and civil design work including streets, intersections, roundabouts, Active Transportation infrastructure, and municipal water/sewer/storm infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Complete transportation demand modelling using programs such as Synchro, Vissim, and Junctions;
  • Work on Traffic Impact Studies, Transportation Functional Plans, and Transportation Design projects;
  • Prepare conceptual design drawings, detailed design drawings, and construction drawings for Transportation infrastructure using Civil 3D software;
  • Complete quantity takeoffs and cost estimating;
  • Preparation of design briefs and construction specifications;
  • Opportunity to take on Project Management tasks including managing schedules, budgets, reporting, client management and contract administration;
  • Meet and communicate effectively with your multi-disciplinary team to achieve project goals;
  • Coordinate sub-consultant activities;
  • Be available to assist with construction supervision/inspection activities if required;
  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.

Your Profile

  • A civil engineering or technology degree from an accredited university or community college;
  • An interest in Transportation Engineering;
  • Experience writing technical reports;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong organizational skills that will allow you to work on numerous projects concurrently;

Additional assets (not necessarily required)

  • Experience with AutoCad/Civil 3D;
  • Prior municipal inspection experience;
  • Experience conducting Topographic surveys;
  • Experienced in Construction Management and dealing with third party contractors.
