The Department of Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking a qualified full-time academic Endocrinologist. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The position will have an academic description as Clinician Scientist (CS). The expected start date is October 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter.
The candidate should hold an MD degree (or equivalent), be eligible for certification in Endocrinology and Metabolism by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and possess or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Responsibilities include outpatient care, inpatient consultations, and participation in educational programs. Leadership in the metabolic bone disease program is expected, requiring a proven record in clinical and research excellence in metabolic bone disease, including rare bone diseases, atypical femur fractures, and osteoporosis, demonstrated through publications, presentations, editorships, awards, and leadership roles. The successful candidate will report to the Head of the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism at St. Michael’s Hospital. The division comprises 13 full-time academic endocrinologists and is renowned for clinical and translational research, education, and quality improvement. Work locations include St. Michael’s Hospital at 30 Bond St. and the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology at 61 Queen St. East, Toronto.
Remuneration is estimated between $292,341 and $350,000 annually, based on qualifications, experience, and funding sources, including clinical billings and scholarships. Benefits include health and dental coverage, with potential relocation support. Proficiency in English is required.
