Kitchen Manager Job Summary
Catamount Mountain Resort is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Manager to enhance our culinary program across all venues. Ideal candidates will possess multi-unit leadership experience and demonstrate a commitment to training and mentoring staff. Key responsibilities include organization, sanitation, inventory ordering, and training. The Kitchen Manager will work closely with a talented team across mountain operations, guest services, and back-office operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promote positive interactions with Food and Beverage staff.
  2. Ensure all food items are stored, prepared, and served according to standardized recipes, portion control, and preparation techniques.
  3. Supervise kitchen food preparation, ensuring quality, temperature, and appearance are maintained.
  4. Manage inventory levels, conduct scheduled inventories, and maintain order lists to ensure availability of supplies.
  5. Implement and enforce proper food handling and sanitation techniques.
  6. Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils, reporting any needed repairs.
  7. Plan food production schedules to align with peak meal service hours.
  8. Maintain a neat and clean kitchen, food storage, and cooler areas at all times.
  9. Train kitchen employees on the safe operation of equipment and adherence to health standards.
  10. Conduct regular food temperature checks before service and throughout shifts.
  11. Comply with sanitation and personal hygiene standards.
  12. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  1. Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  2. Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  3. Prior experience in the food service industry is preferred.
  4. Proficient in the use of kitchen equipment including deep fryers, grills, meat slicers, smokers, stoves, and ovens.
  5. ServSafe and Food Allergens certifications are required.
  6. High energy and stamina are essential.
  7. Ability to identify and assist with tasks during slower periods.

Physical Demands

  3. Tolerance for strong cleaning product odors and temperature fluctuations in the kitchen environment is required.

Requirements

  1. Shift Requirements: Hours may include late afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  2. Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Compensation
Salary range is $55,000-$60,000 annually, based on experience. Full-time benefits available. Additional benefits include access to all mountain adventures.
