Job Title - Structural Repair Design Engineer

Location – Mirabel (hybrid 3 days a week)

Job description:

As part of a specialized group within the engineering team, you will support a commercial aircraft program as a Design Engineer specialist for In-service support.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Assess structural damage to aircraft.
  2. Respond to aircraft grounded (AOG) situations and customer engineering requests.
  3. Investigate causes of in-service problems, resolve failure sources, and find effective, innovative solutions.
  4. Propose repair solutions that comply with sector regulations and customer requirements.
  5. Collaborate closely with design authorities (DA & DAD) and subject matter experts (SME) in stress, Aero, Materials & Processes.
  6. Prepare design reports in English for certification purposes.
  7. Design generic structural repairs for metallic and composite structures.
  8. Participate in designing and supporting structural modifications.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in aerospace repairs (In-service, MAP/MRB).
  • Good knowledge of CATIA V5, Enovia, and PLM configurations.
  • Excellent understanding of aircraft structures.
  • Ability to critically question aircraft structure repairs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high dedication, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of airline operations, engineering, and maintenance is an asset.
