The Department of Medicine and the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute is seeking a full-time academic cardiologist at the assistant or associate professor level, with a focus on Heart Failure and Transplantation.
The successful candidate will join a team of 50 cardiologists at UOHI, a large tertiary centre providing cardiovascular care to Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. UOHI is Canada's largest heart health centre, employing over 1,400 professionals and handling more than 235,000 patient visits annually.
The Institute features state-of-the-art facilities, including catheterization and electrophysiology labs, advanced cardiac imaging, inpatient wards, ICCU, CSICU, and specialized units.
The Division is renowned for cardiac care, education, and research, particularly in electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, interventions, and heart failure.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will join a team of 5 advanced heart failure specialists, providing inpatient and outpatient care, participating in on-call duties, and engaging in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications:
An MD degree, FRCPC certification in Cardiology (or equivalent), and completion of an advanced HF/transplant fellowship are required. International candidates are welcome.
