Reports To: Manager, Group Underwriter

In this role, you will collaborate with the Group Underwriting team to ensure Medavie Blue Cross achieves its financial targets on the group health, life, and disability income lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish renewal pricing through experience/trend analysis, justify reasons behind renewals, and recommend pricing alternatives. Respond to client inquiries regarding pricing and experience.
2. Set rates for new group business and address financial questions within specified guidelines.
3. Prepare financial statements for ASO and Retention groups in accordance with financial agreements.
4. Draft and update financial agreements.
5. Ensure underwriting targets for growth and profitability are met.
6. Develop and maintain direct relationships with clients and producers.
7. Coordinate with internal sales staff, case management, group administration, and external agents/brokers/consultants, as well as policyholders.

Qualifications

Education:

Post-secondary education

Work Experience:

Minimum of four years in Group Underwriting

Computer Skills:

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Language Skills:

Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
