The Opportunity :

WSP is currently seeking a Group Manager to lead one of our Ground Engineering teams, part of the Ground Engineering business. Reporting to the Director of Ground Engineering , this is a dual role, ideally located in Vancouver, where you will provide both leadership of a 25-person team and provide senior level geotechnical expertise to support our Ground Engineering business.

You will join a growing team comprised of geotechnical engineers and geoscientists based in the Lower Mainland, with offices in Burnaby and Langley, supported by WSP’s global Ground Engineering community. Our team services projects in sectors such as Transportation, Oil & Gas, Flood Protection, Water Supply, and Power. As Group Manager, you will play a key role in delivering our strategic goal to expand our ground engineering services.

  • Partner with senior staff on business development, including building client relationships, proposals, and project positioning.
  • Provide technical leadership, review project deliverables, and advise clients on technical matters.
  • Manage projects from proposal through delivery, overseeing contracts, budgets, and client relations.

What you’ll bring to WSP :

  • An undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, or related field from an accredited university.
  • 12-20 years of consulting experience focusing on geotechnical projects.
  • Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
  • Self-motivated leadership with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven success in business development and client relationship management.
  • Strong health and safety leadership.
  • Technical excellence, proposal and report writing skills.
  • Experience in strategic and business planning, financial management, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize, and build interdisciplinary partnerships.

Salary range (BC) : $113,500 - $156,000. Final salary depends on education, experience, skills, and organizational needs. Salary range may change based on business requirements.
