Job description

Part-time Animal Care Attendant - King West

At Juno Veterinary, we are on a mission to ensure every pet and Juno team member has the support they need to thrive. Our ultimate vision is to establish a stellar standard for the veterinary industry; the Juno standard of care. We are seeking to challenge a traditional industry by establishing the Juno standard of care across Canada not just for our Members and their pets, but also for our team of veterinary professionals as they are at the heart of everything we do. We are just getting started and we cannot wait to meet you.

We are assembling a team of innovative thinkers across consumer-tech and veterinary medicine to build a new experience for consumers and providers. We are looking for someone who shares our vision and YOU want to be a major part of shaping the future with Juno. We are looking for someone who loves the idea of building something new, contributing to the Mission, and being part of an early-stage company committed to making a positive impact.

We are looking for a part-time Animal Care Attendant (ACA) to join our in-Clinic team. Reporting to the clinic’s Practice Manager, the individual in this role is passionate about pets and the people who care for them. A keen and curious mindset to work closely with the medical care team and ensure that the pet and team are always top priority and you are consistently two steps ahead of what they need.

What You’ll Do:

  • Focus on patient care always and all ways
  • Support the RVT and DVM team in our treatment and patient care areas of the clinic to support appointment flows and patient comfort
  • Remain open to feedback and being coachable in your relentless pursuit of being better in order to best support the team
  • Proactively support the day’s schedule by planning, communicating and organizing what’s needed for the appointments throughout the day
  • Collaborate with the ACA team to exchange knowledge and information
  • Always representing a gold standard of care
  • Contribute to an environment that fosters excellence and on-going learning

You Have:

  • Previous experience as an ACA/Veterinary Assistant a must
  • A keen eye for detail and organization and the ability to anticipate needs of the patient and team
  • The ability to support and contribute to a team environment that fosters on-going collaboration and learning
  • Full benefits package including access to mental health support, continuing education, and mentorship opportunities
  • A collaborative team who has your back and will welcome you as part of the pack
  • Time for you and your loved ones: great PTO, discounted Juno Vet services for pets
  • An opportunity to make a positive impact for those around you

The role of ACA at Juno may require evening and weekend work, as well as working closely with team members who are working with Members who may be experiencing emotional distress and/or frustration, as well as managing challenging members and patients. This position will be based in our clinic and will require the ability to be able to lift weight of up to 20kg.

We’re looking for people who are not just team players, but also leaders. If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably looking for something pretty awesome. So were we — let’s meet.

Our goal is to be inclusive, diverse, and representative of the communities where we work while creating an environment where every person can enjoy a positive and successful career. This commitment applies to all candidates and employees regardless of race, ethnicity, citizenship, creed, place of origin, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, family status, marital status, disability, age, and any other protected characteristic.
