Job description

Based in Montreal, the Commissioning Engineer will report to the Operations Manager of the Service Division. Powell Commissioning Engineers are responsible for ensuring the end-to-end safety, quality and performance of Powell equipment across Canada. This includes performing installations, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance. The ideal candidate thinks critically, can work well in a team setting, and is a problem solver. Qualified commissioning engineers are provided safety and technical training with full office support. Once qualified, technicians are assigned a company vehicle, standard tooling, testing equipment, a laptop, phone compensation, and company expense card.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to Powell’s current safety and quality standards.
  2. Complete all site documentation in a timely manner; including but not limited to, weekly time sheets, signed service and repair order, materials used and report writing.
  3. Provide regular and clear communication regarding work schedule to Field Operations Scheduler and District Service Manager.
  4. Maintain flexible work hours, which will include over time and periodic weekend support.
  5. Must be available to travel up to 85% of the year.
  6. Comply with Powell‘s standard operating procedures, documentation processes, safety processes and protocols.
  7. Coordinate with Powell Project management, customers, vendors, and labor support in a professional and customer-centric manner.
