1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
2. Address customers' complaints or concerns
3. Load and unload goods
4. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
5. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
6. Perform emergency roadside repairs
7. Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
8. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
9. Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
10. Transport and handle dangerous goods
11. Communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems
