Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company, customer safety standards, practices, and legal regulations. Alert others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
  • Perform all duties as assigned and adhere to TEAM’s Core Values.
  • Determine the target audience of the product and explore various usage methods by asking and answering relevant questions, and addressing inquiries from customers, plant engineers, and branch personnel.
  • Handle field calls for service requests, collaborating with field personnel to analyze data and support design requests.
  • Develop design drawings and specifications for field equipment, dies/tools, and controls using computer-assisted drafting (CAD). This requires mathematical computation.
  • Coordinate drafting efforts on projects, review, and evaluate preliminary sketches to create refined drafts based on engineering fundamentals.
  • Create final sketches of proposed drawings, checking dimensions, materials, and the relationship among parts and the overall structure or project.
  • Provide technical advice and discuss design concepts with field personnel and clients. Create design packages for customer presentations.
  • Present designs and demonstrate product prototypes to obtain client approval.
  • Maintain documentation of design drawings, illustrations, and reproduce materials for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of equipment and components.
  • Ensure drafts and sketches comply with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
  • Perform calculations for designed clamps based on ASME code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must possess P Eng stamp/Designation for Ontario.
  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience.
  • Professional Engineering Certification appropriate for the working region.
  • Completion of a certified CADD program is preferred.
  • Experience using SolidWorks, UltraPIPE, or other AutoCAD software is required.
  • Experience with parametric modeling is preferred.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to work under time constraints, good interpersonal skills, and a high degree of initiative are preferred.
  • Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts and overtime, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.
  • Travel requirements: 0%-25%.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily conducted in a semi-private office or cubicle setting.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Variable shifts.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
  • Sufficient speech and hearing capabilities to communicate effectively, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine office duties, with or without reasonable accommodations.
