Job summary

The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking a full-time, permanent EarlyON leader overseeing Stratford-Perth and Waterloo Region. You will drive community partnerships, supervise staff and ensure high-quality mobile programming for families.

We require 5+ years of supervisory experience, a valid RECE credential, and willingness to travel. Evening and Saturday availability is expected. Starting rate is $75,000 annually with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support mobile EarlyON programming.
  • Oversee staff, student and volunteer records, safeguarding compliance, and data collection across EarlyON operations.
  • Lead a diverse team across locations with mentoring, coaching and development.
  • Ensure high-quality program delivery and exceptional customer service for families at mobile sites and via virtual channels.
  • Align team efforts with YMCA priorities and funder guidelines; represent YMCA and EarlyON operations in community forums.

What you will do…
  • Community Collaboration: Build and sustain strong relationships with community partners, co-located services, and stakeholders. You will establish and foster partnerships that support in the development and facilitation of targeted and universal mobile programming in alignment with EarlyON Service Guidelines and represent EarlyON and oversee community event participation across our operations.
  • Administrative Management: Oversee staff, student and volunteer records, financial accountability, and data collection. Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and organizational standards and that data collection systems are utilized across our EarlyON Operations for participant data as required by the Ministry of Education.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead a diverse team of full-time and part-time employees across varying shifts and positions and locations including both direct and indirect reports. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to build leadership capacity in educators, designates, and administration staff, and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning. Lead through complexity with clarity, calmness, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth daily operations and high standards of program delivery and customer service experience by providing environments for parents and caring adults to engage in play at mobile sites alongside their children and other families. Engaging parents and caring adults in conversations and information sharing to support them in their role as the expert of their own child at the site level and through virtual pathways such as phone and email.
  • Strategic Leadership:Through active leadership, align team efforts with YMCA Strategic Priorities – People, Places, Partnerships and Pathways – to ensure programs remain responsive to evolving community needs, centre needs, best practices and funder guidelines. Representing our YMCA and EarlyON operations through community connections and involvement on community tables.
  • Program Quality & Engagement: Champion high-quality early learning experiences rooted in How Does Learning Happen? pedagogy. Support adult-child relationships and inquiry-based learning through hands-on engagement and reflective practice for mobile teams. Champion high-quality customer service experiences in-person and virtually through EarlyON administration team connections.
  • Equity-Focused Leadership: Model and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of leadership. Create welcoming and engaging environments for families and staff from diverse backgrounds and lead with cultural humility and a customer service mindset.
What you will bring…
  • Experienced Leader: Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience in child and family settings, with a proven track record of leading diverse teams in dynamic environments, building positive team culture, and fostering community connections.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE): Deep understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, with a focus on How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
  • Strategic & Operational Thinker: Skilled in balancing day-to-day operations with long-term planning and system alignment maintaining a positive outlook to change management.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to inspire and engage across all levels.
  • Equity Champion: Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership and supporting diverse communities.
  • Flexible & Mobile: Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays, and travel across our EarlyON Mobile Operations and communities as needed.
  • Fostering a Positive Team Culture: Skilled in building a positive team culture through relationship-building, communication, coaching and development and problem solving.
Additional Information

This position requires frequent travel within and between locations in Stratford-Perth and Waterloo Region.
